환경오염을 유발하는 것은 결국 인류의 삶이다. 하지만 그를 통해 인간은 즐겁고 아름다운 순간을 경험하고 살아간다. 사람이 더 많을 것을 즐기게 될수록, 자연의 훼손은 더 심해진다. 예를 들어, 자동차, 비행기, 배 등과 같은 이동수단이 발명되며 다양한 자연을 찾아다니며 즐길 수 있게 되었고, 좀 더 적극적으로 오염물을 배출하며 돌아다니고 있다. 이처럼 즐거움엔 오염이 수반된다. 우리는 우리의 존재를 빼고 이야기할 수 없고, 우리가 누리고 있는 즐겁고 아름다운 순간을 버릴 수 없다. 따라서 이 작업은 자조적인 태도로 사람의 활동과 환경오염의 관계를 바라보는 것이 아니고, 다만 “즐거움(오염)을 배설하고 물을 내리고 나면 그만이 아니라는 것”에 대해 생각해볼거리를 제시하고자 한다. 기계문명, 자연, 사회에서 들을 수 있는 여러 가지 소리 샘플을 채집하고, 하나의 소리가 다른 소리로 자연스럽게 변형되도록 편집 및 가공하며 곡을 구성하였다.
Ultimately, it is human life that causes environmental pollution. However, through it, humans experience joyful and beautiful moments and live on. The more people enjoy having more, the more nature gets damaged. For example, with the invention of modes of transportation like cars, airplanes, and ships, we were able to travel and enjoy various natural settings, but also more actively emit pollutants while doing so. Thus, pollution accompanies pleasure. We cannot talk without our existence, and we cannot abandon the joyful and beautiful moments we are experiencing. Therefore, rather than looking at the relationship between human activities and environmental pollution with a self-mocking attitude, this work aims to present something to think about regarding the fact that “it’s not over after excreting pleasure (pollution) and flushing the toilet.” Sound samples that can be heard from machinery civilization, nature, and society were collected, edited, and processed so that one sound naturally transforms into another to compose the piece.
